Tech Nation, an endorsing body for the Global Talent visa scheme will be ceasing operation as of 31 March 2023 after their grant funding from the government has been withdrawn.
The UK government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has instead awarded the £12 million pound grant to its rival, Barclays Bank instead of Tech Nation.
Tech Nation has supported tech start-up businesses in the UK, which has brought many talented workers to the UK. Tech Nation has announced that it is not in a position to continue being operational without the governments funding and plans to close its doors.
It has caused uncertainty and unclarity on the future of Global Talent visa endorsements for those in the technology industry, especially after Barclays Bank has stated that it will not be taking over the endorsement. It is also unclear on whether applicants will have a decision on their endorsement or visa applications prior to closure in March 2023.
It has been advised that applicants in the technology field must apply prior to the closure of this visa endorsement. Sincere Immigration is continuously following any updates on this situation and will provide an update once there are information that is readily available.
