Allowing international graduates to start their careers after completing their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in the UK, a new route was opened on 1 Jul 2021. If the qualifications acquired is
Graduate visa, as a part of the points-based immigration system, lasts for 2 years. If international graduates have a PHD or doctoral qualification, the visa will last for 3 years instead.
Some facts about Graduate route
✓ work for all corners of the UK, including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
✓ No other requirements on qualifications and skills.
✓ No need to show funds or finance and demonstrate English language ability.
✓ applicants do not need a job ahead visa application.
✓ applicants have flexibility on job nature (only professional sportsperson is not allowed), self-employment and switching jobs; there is also no requirements on minimum salary.
✓ the route is unsponsored, different from Skilled Worker Visa.
✗ Time spent on Graduate visa will not count towards settlement.

Eligibility
- Applicants are in the UK.
- Applicants are holding a valid Tier 4 (General) student visa or Student visa.
- Applicants studied a UK bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree or other eligible course at a Higher Education Provider above with a track of compliance for a minimum period of time with their Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa.
- They have to complete the entire course in the UK as a student (concessions will be given on permitted study abroad programmes or remote study due to COVID-19)
Noted that those who leaves the UK after graduation could lose their eligibility to apply Graduate route!

Applicants also need to pay Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
